Get rid of your actor bag of tricks by intense work on the plays of the brilliant Russian playwright, Anton Chekhov. Easily one of the most influential playwrights of all time, Chekhovs work helped to force a change in the modern acting tradition from a presentational to representational style. In place of conventional action Chekhov offers a theatre of mood and a submerged life in the text, where often what is not spoken is as important as what is spoken. This class will be a combination of lecture and demo time through scenes and monologues from Chekhovs four masterworks, The Seagull, Uncle Vanya, The Cherry Orchard, and The Three Sisters.
