Libby Whittemore
Libby Whittemoreis thrilled to be back at Actor's Express. She appeared at AE for the first time in 2002 in the hit production of Gypsy as Mama Rose. She refers to this as her greatest theater experience ever and was honored to be a part of such a wonderful production. For the last 6 ½ years Libby was owner and artistic director of Libby's Cabaret where she performed in her own one woman shows as well as writing and directing many musical revues as: Girls Are Crazy For Gershwin, Those Gals Sure Can Sing and Those Gals Sure Can Sing, Too saluting girl groups from the 30's to the 70's, Ladies Love Broadway, Hollywood Or Bust saluting music from the movies and Steppin' Out which paid tribute to the music and lyrics of Irving Berlin just to name a few. While it made perfect business sense, her decision to close the club at the end of 2006 was the hardest and saddest thing she has ever had to do ... partially because of all the talented performers she would no longer be able to offer a place to work, but mainly because of all the wonderful customers who over the last 6 years have become her extended family. The future after the club and after Trailer Park is a big, fat question mark.
