Actor’s Express presents The Flower Room

  • March 19, 2018 – Actor’s Express will produce the World Premiere of Atlanta playwright Daryl Lisa Fazio’s The Flower Room, a hilarious madcap comedy about sexual discovery directed by AE Associate Artist Melissa Foulger. According to Artistic Director Freddie Ashley, “I love that this play is funny and naughty, but more so that it centers on a woman who awakens her sexual self on her own terms and in her own time, without the impetus coming from the need to please a man. That’s a powerful story that’s really worth telling in this day and age. We are proud to present this wonderful, empowering play with an all-woman creative team.” Produced in association with Inverness Productions.

Actor’s Express Announces Co-Production, A Doll's House, Part 2, with Aurora Theatre

  • March 5, 2018 – Actor’s Express will co-produce A Doll’s House, Part 2 by Lucas Hnath with Aurora Theatre. Fifteen years ago, Nora Helmer made the shocking decision to leave her husband and family, setting out on a new independent life. Now she has come home, knocking on the same door she slammed shut a decade and a half earlier – arriving with a request for an impossible favor from her husband. Long-simmering resentments boil over in an intellectual and comedic slugfest of ideas, love – and the rights of women in the modern world. This Tony-winning comedy of ideas from the author of The Christians was one of the most talked-about smash hits of the 2017 Broadway season.
