Fight the Elimination of the NEA

Posted on April 11, 2017

Last month, the Trump Administration released their budget proposal to fund the federal government for the coming fiscal year. The proposal includes massive budget cuts including the proposed elimination of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

AE feels that our federal government's investment in arts and culture is vital and an important guiding principle for our state and local government entities. Georgia is currently ranked 48th in state arts funding in the U.S. The elimination of the NEA would have a severe negative impact on arts funding in our community.

Please consider taking 5 minutes to call your elected officials to voice your concern! You can find their phone numbers here.

Hi, my name is [NAME] and I'm a constituent from [CITY, ZIP].

I'm calling to take a stand against President Trump's proposed budget's elimination of funding for the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. The total cost of these programs is a tiny fraction of the federal budget but they deliver a wealth of art, culture, education, and joy to our communities.

Georgia is already ranked 48th in state arts funding in the U.S. Eliminating the NEA would have a major negative impact on our arts institutions.

Thank you for your time and attention.
