Isake Akanke is humbled to make her debut on the Actor's Express stage. Earning her BFA from Southern Methodist University, her training has allowed her to take on roles from Shakespeare to James Baldwin. She has been privileged to work with phenomenal directors such as Patricia McGregor, Atlanta’s own Rosemary Newcott, and award-winning playwright Will Power. Recent roles include: Mary Solomon in Pearl Cleage’s Tell Me My Dream, Leann in The Best Game, Katharina in The Shakespeare Project, Cookie in Hurt Village, Lorenzo in Blues for Mister Charlie, and Maretha in The Piano Lesson. She thanks her family for their encouragement, support, and unconditional love.
